Women Rule! Female Domain Owners Take the Top Two Spots on This Week Sales Chart

Women are transforming the domain name industry

Two days ago we published a new Cover Story – Women For the Win!

How An Influx of Talented Female Professionals Is Transforming the Domain Industry For Good – about the rapidly rising number of successful women who are making their mark in this business.

Now, just 48 hours later, comes further evidence of that welcome trend as women took both of the top two spots on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart.

We haven’t tracked the identity of all buyers and sellers through the 15 years we’ve been doing this report but I have known many of them and I don’t recall this ever happening before.

The .com went on to sweep 13 of the 20 chart entries but the ccTLDs also had an outstanding week. In fact they took three of the next four spots on the elite list and six places overall.

Sedo’s $38,056 sale of #3Sturm.de (“storm” in German) led the country code contingent with strong backing from another Sedo sale – #5 UME.de at $22,571 and one from GritBrokerage – #6 Fort.co at $18,000. Sandwiched in between those ccTLDs was a $29,888 sale of #4 DotData.com that Michael Mann’s DomainMarket made through Sedo.
